Business Acquisition

Here’s how….

Simply,

DOMINATE YOUR MARKET AREA!

It really is just that simple.  All you have to be is focused, committed and unrelenting.  You can easily dominate an entire market area one step at a time if you address every activity, conversation or any type of interaction with the attitude that you already have the lion’s share of the market in your pocket.  It’s a mindset, not an overwhelming task.  Watch this…..

Let’s say your business is based in Atlanta and it turns out you have a church as a client on your books.  First you solicit and acquire a few more churches as accounts.  (“Hello Mr. Prospect, I’m with ABC Cleaning.  We currently service the church across the street and we’re considering specializing in servicing the religious community…”).  Talk to every church the same way, but each time add the churches you have contracted with: “we currently service St. Mary’s, St. Jude’s and a few others and…”.  Continue doing this until you have five or six churches in your client base.  I bet there isn’t a cleaning company in Atlanta that has more than five churches on their books, so now………… YOU HAVE THE LION’S SHARE OF THE RELIGIOUS COMMUNITY ON YOUR BOOKS!  You’re the church guys!  So now…

Target an off shoot of the church market.  Maybe, church day cares.  “Hello Mr.  Prospect, I’m with ABC Cleaning.  We currently service the lion’s share of the religious community and it just seems like a logical step to add the church day cares to our client base”.  Continue this process the same as the process with the churches.  Understand, you don’t need to get a janitorial contract from the client for them to be considered part of your client base.  A onetime cleaning, some one time floor or carpet care or maybe outside pressure washing adds a client to your client base.  If necessary, do a one time job for free.  Add them to your client base and consider your labor part of your advertising budget.  Believe me, that one time labor is incredibly well spent!

The church day cares lead you to the regular commercial day cares.  The commercial day cares lead you to the private schools and on and on.  Slowly, methodically, systematically connect a to b and then b to c.  Eventually your company will have the lion’s share of more industries in Atlanta than any of your competition.  Now…….. Wow!   You’re everywhere, you’re the BIG GUYS!

When you start with the churches, don’t stop until you have spoken with every church in Atlanta.  Same with their daycares and then the commercial daycares.  Speak with every single one of them.  And the schools…. etc... etc... Good Luck!
